I am a professional landscape photographer, living in Langen, near Frankfurt, Germany. My passion for photography takes me to various countries and places with epic natural backdrops of this planet. Our planet. All its beauty, changes of colour, structure and form – it all reflect through my photographs within different atmosphere and light. Some of my photographs are known for its dramatic perspective, while some seem paintbrushed, teeming with my aesthetic aspect and suitable light.
Through photography we speak of our planet’s visual beauty. To any photographer, his or her work is also the most unique and pesonal memory. Memories of the place, experience and atmosphere captured in it. Apart from my love for freedom and wild nature, challenge is what makes the experience whole. Different perspective and great photo cannot be done from the comfort of the known. It has to be discovered, walked through and climbed onto. Furthermore, it is of great importance to actually be in the right place at the right time. Light atmosphere, the weather, the season and the motive – it all decides right then and there if the natural motive that is being photographed will shine in its full glory. All these feelings and experiences I wish to transfer to the viewer of my work, as well as the journey and emotions.
The inception of my work begins before I even come to a particular place. Careful planning of the photo spot, as much as searching for the immediate perfect position, also carries much importance. As I take photos, it is relevant for me to realize my idea by using tech devices at that very moment. Naturally, I also use the postproduction to correct the results of even the newest tech devices (which are not infallible) and thus use it to recreate the atmosphere I saw and experienced. Ultimately, the nature cannot be “planned”; it has its own rhythm and its personal layout. All those surprises in the end make the photograph so fascinating.
To me personally, it is an imperative to preserve this stunning planet in all its beauty and profusion, and I sincerely hope that my work is contributing this cause. That is of utmost importance to me, to keep it as well as for us as for the future generations. We are merely observers of sometimes indescribable beauty, and as we halt for a moment, we fill out souls, feel the balance and take an occasional photograph with us home.
